Frequently asked questions

What exactly is an adults-only hotel?+

An adults-only hotel (or "reserved for adults") does not accept minors. The minimum age is most often 16 or 18 — it's specified on each listing. The goal: a quiet environment, no family pool, no kids' club and no noisy buffet. It's the ideal formula for a romantic weekend or a wellness retreat.

Why choose an adults-only hotel over a classic one?+

Three reasons dominate: tranquility (no shouting at the pool, no running in the hallways), more refined design (rooms designed for two, not four) and more grown-up dining (wine cellar, tastings, gourmet tables). Many also include an 18+ spa, a rooftop bar and duo treatments.

Which destinations have the most adults-only hotels?+

The Balearics (Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera), the Canaries (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura) and the Greek Islands (Santorini, Mykonos, Crete) are the European capitals of the format. Marrakech, the Riviera Maya in Mexico, Bali and Thailand round out the top. In France, the offer is rarer but exists in Provence, Corsica and the French Riviera.

Adults only and no kids — is it the same thing?+

Yes, they're two names for the same policy. You also see "adults recommended", which is more flexible: children are allowed but the property isn't designed for them. To be sure of a 100% kid-free stay, look for the explicit "adults only" mention with the minimum age indicated.

Is it more expensive than a classic hotel?+

Not necessarily. In the same category, an adults-only hotel in Spain or Greece is often the same price as a family 4★. The value is even better because the older clientele generates more attentive service and superior wellness features. Our Resapass rates remain 15–30% below the public list price.
